JACKSON MAN SENTENCED TO TWENTY YEARS WITHOUT PAROLE FOR SALE OF METHAMPHETAMINE
District Attorney John K. “Bubba” Bramlett announced today that D’Allen Tyrek Washington was sentenced to twenty years as a habitual offender for the sale of methamphetamine in Rankin County Circuit Court. All time will be served without the possibility of early release or parole.
In early 2024, agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics began a multi-county investigation into methamphetamine and fentanyl sales throughout the metro. Working with both undercover officers and confidential informants, officers determined that Washington was selling large amounts of controlled substances. On February 23, 2024, Washington sold thirty dosage units of methamphetamine to a confidential informant in Flowood. Officers were conducting surveillance of the transaction and attempted to apprehend Washington after the sale was completed. He attempted to escape officers on foot. However, after a short foot pursuit, Washington was taken into custody, and investigators turned the case over to the Rankin County grand jury.
District Attorney Bubba Bramlett stated, “We want to thank the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department, and the Madison Police Department for their combined and continued efforts to stem the flow of drugs into our communities. Mr. Washington had been twice previously convicted of felony offenses and refused to stop breaking the law. And for that, he will spend the next twenty years in prison.”
